CATS
Abby   Abby
Breed:  Bob-tail DSH
Location:  Winston-Salem
Sex:  Female (spayed)
Age:  ~2 Years
Description:  Rescued from Katrina, Abby is a gray tabby bob-tail with an attitude and lots of energy.  She is playful, very curious and gets into and onto everything- many things she shouldn't.  Her foster mom is working on her house manners but she still has a long way to go.  She can be very sweet and loving to the person she knows but is very independent an does well when left alone.  She likes the person that cares for her but doesn't take to strangers very well.  If stressed, she will hiss, scratch, and bite if necessary.  She has been living as an indoor cat only for the last year and a half and would do well in a home as a solo pet and with an owner who will allow her to rule the roost.  Due to her attitude and behaviors, she will not be placed with children.  Abby may also do well as an outdoor cat and may make an excellent hunter for a barn, etc.  For more information on Abby or to visit her, please contact Amy Vernon at 336-782-2059 or here.

Velma

Velma
Breed: Calico
Location: Winston-Salem
Sex: Female (spayed)
Age: ~3-4 years
Description: Rescued from Hurricane Katrina, Velma is the sweetest and prettiest calico you will ever meet but the biggest "scaredy cat". She is very playful, loves other four legged friends but is nervous and frightened of the two legged types (other than the ones she knows). She has her safe places, which she retreats to when nervous, and your guests will never even know that you have a cat because she will stay hidden while they are visiting. She loves to lie in the sun and look out the window, when she is not playing with her toy mice. She prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, but will roll around next to you and lean up against you versus sitting on your lap. Velma needs a quiet home, a patient owner/ family, and could only be an indoor cat. For more information or to visit Velma, pleasecontact Amy Vernon at 336-782-2059 or here.
